Assistant Producer of Sport Vacancy @ BBC Scotland (Glasgow)

BBC Sport Scotland produces a large volume of output across television, radio and online. As football is by a long way the preferred sport in Scotland it is also the prime focus of the department, which has a comprehensive rights portfolio covering the SPL, Scottish Cup, League Cup & Scotland matches. The department also supplies coverage of a wide range of other events including Scotland’s indigenous sports of shinty and curling, rugby, bowls, cricket and outdoor and adventure sports in The Adventure Show.

Role
You will work across all TV Sport output including live football matches, the Saturday Sportscene results show, the Sportscene TV and online SPL highlights and occasional other live sporting events.   Afforded a large degree of responsibility you will deliver programme material to the specification of Producers and Editors, often unsupervised and under pressure. 
 
Interviews will be held week commencing 23rd July 2012
 
Requirements
You will have strong visual and editorial skills and be adept at packaging sports material and producing short VT inserts. Beyond this you will have experience of working in a pressurised, fast turnaround VT environment and also in OB VT.  Other key requirements are a strong knowledge of sport, particularly Scottish football, energy, good ideas, and initiative.
