Hi Mark! It may well be the case that you'll be busy with other projects, but I thought I'd make you aware of the initial 'feeling things out/early days' phase for the next MM production. You can view the post on the discussion forum by clicking here. I should be boring and stress that no immediate action is planned, and that this is just me trying to gauge interest levels. Cheers!
Hidden on Fettes Row, Dundas Street is the oldest filmmaking club in Scotland, the Edinburgh Cine & Video Society which I'm a member of. This year, my role is publicity and one thing I noticed immediately is how little people even know of it's name. I'm hoping to increase the club's activities by inviting local filmmakers to meet once a week and work with one another on professional and amateur projects with an emphasis on paid work. The society needs a rebirth with a desire to attract new young filmmakers.
The club meets every thursday and features a theme every week from lighting tips to distribution. It holds 5-6 nights a year where filmmakers can show their films. The great thing about the club is that there are no restrictions on what to submit and no judging of films so there is a platform for any filmmaker to get their film seen. There is also the annual awards night where filmmakers compete and win prizes for different categories.
