Crew Being Sought for Short Film - ASexual Healing
ASexual Healing
when curiosity becomes the cure
From the quirky yet chilled Martha Appelt, director of eca short film ‘Fashion’ (2008) comes another short comedy based on one girl’s experience of her genitals transforming over one day.
Sam wakes up one morning to find her vagina is missing. Waiting to be seen by her doctor, she meets Alex in the waiting room, who is suffering from a similar affliction. A prescription mistake results in both having genitals re-grow, but somehow they get each others’, which ensures they meet again. Their mutual attraction develops as they share their experiences and find some ASexual Healing.
The story will be told through bold visuals, comedic dialogue and strong sound design. Our priority right now is to find a confident DoP who is willing to develop the look of this film, alongside the director who is strongly inspired by the look of Wes Anderson’s films - wide angled, simply composed, crisp clear and steady shots.
A Gaffer, Runners, Make-up and Hair and production support crew members are also needed. Already starting to shape up to be a good crew!
The shoot will happen over several days between the 5th and 11th of April and needs to be finalised for submission on Friday 7th May. This BA (Hons) Edinburgh College of Art (eca) graduation film has a limited budget, but basic travel costs will be paid and you will be well fed! Martha has a good working and directing style that is fun but professionally productive.
